Kryvyi Rih Targeted in Drone Attack

According to UATV: On March 6, the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region was struck by a mass attack from Russian drones. The assault damaged approximately 30 residential buildings, four educational institutions, and one infrastructure facility. The targeting of both homes and schools has caused significant alarm among local residents.

Casualties and Wider Damage

In the nearby city of Nikopol, three civilians were injured: a 16-year-old girl, a 55-year-old woman, and a 66-year-old man. These casualties underscore the severe human cost of military actions on civilian populations. Further damage was reported in the neighboring Synelnykove district, where two private houses were destroyed and two others were damaged.

Kryvyi Rih's Mayor, Oleksandr Vilkul, stated that 'in total, about 30 houses were damaged.'

His remarks highlight the scale of destruction caused by the attack. The situation remains challenging, with local authorities continuing efforts to repair damaged structures and ensure public safety. This incident is part of a wider pattern in the ongoing conflict, where civilian infrastructure is frequently targeted. Such events force communities to confront immense challenges, including:

  • the urgent need to rebuild critical infrastructure;
  • providing medical care to the injured.

Enhancing security and protecting civilians remain top priorities for local officials as the war continues. Kryvyi Rih, a major industrial hub and the hometown of President Zelenskyy, has faced repeated attacks since the full-scale invasion began.
