Civilian Casualties Mount in Latest Wave of Attacks
According to UATV: Over the past day, Russian forces launched assaults on Zaporizhzhia, Sumy Oblast, and Odesa, killing three people and injuring 19 others. In Zaporizhzhia Oblast alone, occupiers carried out 814 strikes across 35 settlements.
Regional Breakdown of the Assaults
In Zaporizhzhia, a March 17 shelling left one person dead and ten wounded. Additionally, six individuals suffered concussions from an explosion near a logistics terminal. In Sumy Oblast, attacks resulted in two fatalities and nine injuries.
Odesa saw Russian strikes targeting energy, port, and industrial infrastructure, but no casualties were reported. On the night of March 17, the Russian army also launched 178 attack drones across Ukraine. These incidents highlight the ongoing armed aggression and its severe toll on civilians.
This news underscores the persistent dangers faced by Ukrainian regions amid a conflict now entering its third year. The use of drones and heavy shelling points to an escalation in violence and shifting tactics that could reshape Ukraine's defense strategies.
