According to UATV: On July 8, 2023, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone assault targeting Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv. The attacks resulted in one fatality and dozens of injuries. Over the course of 24 hours, more than 1,000 strikes were recorded across 62 populated areas, causing widespread destruction and loss of life.
Impact of the Strikes
In Kyiv, one man was killed and two people were wounded during the attack. Odesa also suffered, with 11 people injured, five of whom required hospitalization. In Zaporizhzhia, 10 individuals were harmed as a result of the assault. Kharkiv experienced severe damage, including approximately 20 private homes, a church, and five vehicles being hit, leaving four people injured.
Additionally, in the Chernihiv region, Russian drones struck two industrial facilities. According to reports, fires that broke out from the attacks were extinguished without any casualties. These events highlight the ongoing volatility in the country and the toll of the protracted conflict.
The massive attacks on July 8 underscore an escalation of violence in a conflict zone that has now persisted for over a year.
