Impressive design of the new stadium
The stadium, named Hill Dickinson Stadium, has received positive feedback for its stylish design and ability to create a vibrant atmosphere. Although Everton has just moved to a new stadium, fans already feel at home there.
Mays is now planning to create a new home for Birmingham City, whose team has recently been promoted to the Championship and aspires to the Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, he aims to facilitate the development of a stadium that can accommodate up to 62,000 spectators.
A planned sports complex near the stadium will include training facilities and infrastructure for training. The stadium's design has been compared to a 'spaceship' due to its futuristic appearance.
Mays confirmed his determination regarding the project when he said at a conference:
“Clearly, there is a stadium project in Birmingham, and we are actively working on it.”
Huge plans for the future
Among the owners of Birmingham, including NFL legend Tom Brady, plans are underway to create a sports district where the new stadium will also be a central feature. The cost of the project could reach 3 billion pounds, with completion planned for 2030-31.
Wagner, another one of the owners, emphasized the importance of the project:
“This is a 62,000-seat stadium, there is an arena with 15-20,000 seats, and also a venue for the academy and the women's team.”
Birmingham is currently in 16th place in the Championship, dreaming of promotion. Their growth under the guidance of Brady and Wagner is documented in the Amazon Prime series “Built in Birmingham: Brady and the Blues.”
