Support for Single Mothers in Ukraine: Who May Lose Eligibility for Benefits.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, state support for single mothers has been in place since 2001. This program was created to assist those raising children without a partner, including adoptive parents. Payments are provided until the child turns 18 or up to 23 if they are studying. These payments can be combined with other forms of assistance for children.
Eligibility Restrictions for Receiving Assistance
However, there are certain restrictions. Women raising children in partnerships are not eligible for this assistance. Additionally, families with high income levels or significant assets are also not able to receive this state support.
The support program for single mothers is an important element of social policy in Ukraine, as it helps ensure decent living conditions for children being raised in single-parent families. At the same time, income and asset restrictions are aimed at supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population. The outcomes of this program may influence further regulation of social assistance in the country.
