Former Liverpool Women's manager Matt Beard has passed away
According to The Sun: Matt Beard, former manager of Liverpool Women's team, has sadly passed away at the age of 47. This sad news was shared by Liverpool Football Club itself.

“Liverpool Football Club is deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of former LFC Women manager Matt Beard.”
It also states:
“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Matt’s family and friends at this devastating time.”
Beard was not only a devoted and successful manager but also a person of high moral character, who will always be remembered fondly by everyone who worked with him.
“Matt was not only an extremely committed and successful manager, he was also a person of real integrity and warmth, who will always be remembered with genuine fondness by everyone he worked with at the club.”
He joined Liverpool Women's team in 2012 and built a squad that won titles in the Women's Super League in 2013 and 2014, as well as reaching the Champions League for the first time.
At the start of his career, Matt managed the Millwall Lionesses women's team from 2008 and went through various clubs, including Chelsea, Boston Breakers and West Ham United. In 2021, he returned to Liverpool, where under his leadership the team returned to the top division of women's football.
In the last season, he won the FA Women's Championship.
Beard left the club in February 2023, departing after a significant contribution to the team's development and numerous unforgettable moments.
