Italian skier Matteo Franzoso died in Chile after a fall during training.
Tragic death of Matteo Franzoso
According to The Sun: Star skier Matteo Franzoso passed away on Monday at the age of 25 due to a horrific accident.
Franzoso died after training in Chile on Saturday. He sustained severe head injuries after colliding with a barrier in La Parva and was hospitalized in Santiago, where he was placed in a medically induced coma.

He participated in 17 World Cup events, with his best result being 28th place in the super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo two years ago.
President of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) Flavio Roda commented:
“This is a tragedy for his family and for our sport.”
“It is absolutely necessary to do everything possible to ensure such incidents do not happen again.”
