The United academy is considered one of the best in the world, although Sir Jim Ratcliffe mentioned in a recent interview with The Times that "standards have dropped".

Among the seven representatives from Carrington who made it to the England youth teams for the international matches in October are several interesting names.

Shaya Lacey – U20

Lacey has received his first call-up to the England U20 team and will have the chance to showcase himself to Tuchel during training with the first team.

The 18-year-old player is one of United's most promising talents, having already trained with the senior squad under Ruben Amorim.

The left winger quickly rose through the youth ranks, debuting for U18 at 15 years old, and has great potential despite regular injuries, including a thigh muscle tear.

He is already being compared to Phil Foden and Wayne Rooney due to his dribbling.

Eli Harrison – U20

Harrison, a talented young goalkeeper who joined from Stevenage in 2022, received a call-up for matches against the youth teams of Belgium and Wales.

His outstanding performances in goal for U18 and U21 earned him the title of "Reserves Player of the Year" for the 2023/24 season.

Ethan Whitley – U20

Whitley is already familiar to fans as he went through the academy after joining at nine years old.

The Stockport forward is notable for his scoring ability in youth teams and won the "Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year" award for 2023/24.

He made his Premier League debut in April 2024, becoming the 250th academy graduate to play for the first team.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Northampton, where he has scored one goal in 10 appearances this season.

Aiden Haven – U20

Haven is a left central defender who joined from Arsenal in February 2025 and is also known to a wider audience.

Despite his young age, he has received shirt number 26 and joined the first team.

Jack Fletcher – U19

Jack is the son of United legend and former Scotland international Darren Fletcher.

Like his father, Jack is a promising central midfielder, but this season he is playing as a left back, starting games against Athletic Club and Crystal Palace.

He and his twin brother Tyler, who represent Scotland, signed a contract with United in 2023 for a substantial fee.

Jack has quickly established himself in the U18 and U21 squads, showcasing his talent through outstanding goals – recently scoring against Everton.

He is considered one of the closest candidates to break into the first team alongside Lacey.

Harry Amas – U19

After difficulties at Sheffield, Amas has had a promising start on loan at Hillsborough, where he joined on deadline day.

The left back has quickly become a regular starter for 'Owls', with five appearances in the Championship.

After he made an impression during United's preseason tour in the USA in the summer of 2024, Amas seemed to be on the path to his club debut.

However, he had to wait until March to play his first official match, coming on as a substitute at King Power Stadium on his 18th birthday.

He was also included in the squad for the Europa League final against Tottenham, where United lost 1-0.

Benedito Mantado – U18

Former United academy coach Neil Ryan included Mantado, 17, in the England U18 squad for two friendly matches against France.

The versatile player, who joined the academy at nine years old, is distinguished by his speed and dribbling, and he is even compared to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

He has been performing well in U18 and has strengthened U21.

Mantado has represented England at various youth team levels and was included in the senior team for the 2025 tour in USA.

The involvement of young players in the national teams indicates the quality of training at the Manchester United academy and the potential renaissance of the team in the coming years.

It is said that the more young talents gain experience on the international stage, the greater the chances we will see them in the club's first team in the future.
