«We will fight»: Macron wants to influence the plot of a famous Netflix series.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he will fight for Emily – the heroine of the Netflix series «Emily in Paris» – to return to the French capital after her stay in Rome. This was reported by Reuters.

«We will fight hard. And we will ask them to stay in Paris! «Emily in Paris» in Rome makes no sense», – Macron said. In the fourth season of the series, American Emily, played by actress Lily Collins, moved from Paris to Rome for work. 

The president added that the series positively affects the «image of France» and this is «super positive in terms of attractiveness for the country».

Recall, the First Lady of France Brigitte Macron played a role in «Emily in Paris».

«I was very proud and she was very happy to do it. It is only a few minutes, but I think it was a very good moment for her», – Macron said regarding his wife's shooting.

It was previously reported that the French film company Gaumont announced the start of work on a new series entitled «Brigitte, a Free Woman», which will reveal the «romantic journey of the First Lady» of France – Brigitte Macron, the wife of the country's president. 

By the way, the series «Emily in Paris» was at the center of a scandal due to the depiction of a Ukrainian woman as a girl who steals things in Parisian boutiques. The then Minister of Culture, Oleksandr Tkachenko, stated that he found it unacceptable how the Ukrainian woman was portrayed in the series and will send an official appeal to the company. In the series, the Kyivite is shown as an uneducated thief.
