The green house is practically recognized by everyone, as it became part of the Balamory show and is now for sale for £225,000.
This cheerful house, which served as the residence for the kindergarten teacher played by Julie Wilson Nimmo, is located in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, where Balamory was filmed.
This three-bedroom cottage is described as 'an icon of television history' by real estate agents Bell Ingram from Oban.
The official name of the house is Beul An Atna, which translates from Gaelic as 'Mouth of the Sea'. The owner of the house was local resident Matthew Spence, who lived there for nearly four decades.
“When the show started airing in 2002, tourists began flocking to our home,” he said.
Memories of Balamory
Spence recounted that children with their parents constantly visited their home, and his wife began responding to fan letters.
“In the summer, two buses full of children would park outside our house every day. It was really cool,” he shared.
During a new filming period of Balamory this year, Spence joyfully reunited with the actors and remarked: “It was a fantastic experience - children came to the island just because of Balamory.”
Real estate agent Andrew Fuller emphasized that the sale opens opportunities for families who grew up with Balamory to become part of 'television nostalgia'.
