Minimum wages in Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic in 2025: how much Ukrainians earn.
In connection with the ongoing full-scale war, many Ukrainians are seeking refuge abroad. Among the countries that have accepted the largest number of refugees from Ukraine are Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Many of them have already found jobs or plan to do so. Therefore, it is important to know how much one can earn in these countries.
Minimum wage in Germany
In Germany, there is a concept of minimum wage — Mindestlohn, which is enshrined in law. This is a standard practice for many countries. The minimum wage determines how much an employee should earn per hour of work and is mandatory for all officially registered employees, regardless of their citizenship.
- Minimum hourly rate — 12.82 euros (618 UAH);
- Estimated monthly salary with a 40-hour work week — from 2,051 to 2,256 euros.
It is important to note that in Germany, the minimum wage is always indicated per hour. Monthly or weekly income depends on the actual hours worked. The real salary may vary due to tax deductions, marital status, etc.
Minimum income in Poland
Since the beginning of 2025, Poland has raised the minimum wage:
- Hourly rate — 30.50 zlotys gross (345 UAH) or 22.03 zlotys net (249 UAH);
- Monthly income — 4,666 zlotys gross (52,809 UAH) or 3,510.92 zlotys net (39,736 UAH).
This is an increase of 366 zlotys compared to July 2024. No new increases are planned for this year. Initially, a different amount was expected, but it was decided to raise the minimum wage slightly more at the end of September 2024.
