The Ministry of Energy calls on partners to strengthen the protection of energy infrastructure for winter.
According to inkorr.com: The Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Roman Andarak held an online meeting with foreign diplomats, where he discussed the needs of the Ukrainian energy sector in preparation for the autumn-winter period, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.
Need for support of energy infrastructure
Andarak drew attention to the scale of destruction of energy infrastructure since the beginning of the invasion, as well as the increase in shelling of energy facilities, which poses a serious threat to energy security. He emphasized:
'Unfortunately, the rhetoric we hear from the Russian Federation does not indicate a cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen diplomatic efforts and allocate funds for the protection and restoration of energy facilities.'
According to Andarak, the main tasks are to strengthen energy infrastructure, repair damaged equipment, create strategic reserves, and develop distributed generation, which will enhance the resilience of the energy system.
During the online meeting, he also stressed the importance of activating measures for the protection and restoration of energy infrastructure affected by the war, emphasizing the development of distributed generation to ensure the resilience of energy systems.
This meeting underscores the urgent need for international support for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which has been significantly affected by Russian shelling. The country's authorities continue to seek ways to ensure the stability and security of energy systems under the challenging conditions of war.
