Ukraine's Foreign Minister Receives Invitation for Talks in Beijing.
An Invitation to Beijing
According to UATV: Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, has been invited to visit Beijing. This development was announced by the spokesperson for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgii Tykhyi, during a briefing on February 18. The invitation follows a recent meeting between the foreign ministers of Ukraine and China, which took place in Munich.
Held on February 13, the Munich meeting was described as 'productive and substantive.' During their talks, Sybiha and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, discussed strengthening bilateral relations between their two nations.
“We are undoubtedly interested in continuing high-level contacts and dialogue between the leaders of our countries.”

Tykhyi further noted that China wields significant influence over Moscow and is one of the global powers that plays a major role in international relations and security. “China indeed has leverage over Moscow and is one of those global forces that plays a very significant role in international peace and security,” he stated.
Prospects for Cooperation
The invitation for Sybiha to visit Beijing underscores Ukraine's intent to build stronger ties with China. This move could prove strategically important for Ukraine, given the current geopolitical challenges. Engaging with China, considering its influence on international politics and specifically on Russia, may become a key element of Ukraine's foreign policy, especially in the context of its ongoing conflict with Moscow.
This diplomatic outreach also signals Ukraine's desire to diversify its foreign policy contacts amid regional instability. The invitation highlights the complex diplomatic landscape where Ukraine seeks to balance its relationships with major global powers.
