Ministry of Defense began inspection of the military's food system
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine began inspecting the organization of food services for servicemen in the northern, eastern, and southern directions. This was reported by the press service of the department.
According to the report, the inspections involve representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Logistics Operator, and veterinary medicine specialists.
«The inspection covers all key stages – from the conditions of storing products at suppliers' warehouses to the direct organization of the feeding process in military units performing combat missions», – commented Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
The Ministry of Defense promises to inform the public about the results of all inspections separately.
The department also added that such inspections would be conducted regularly in different regions of Ukraine without prior notice to military units and suppliers.
State Logistics Operator launches an updated food supply model for the Armed Forces
In early 2025, the State Logistics Operator (SLO) will work simultaneously on the «old» and new supply models. This was discussed at an event held by the SLO together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy regarding the food supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In his speech, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky stated that Ukrainian agricultural producers can meet up to 95% of the food needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
By the way, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced a change in the approach to forming field rations for servicemen. From now on, the assortment will be expanded to consider the religious, medical, and ethical needs of the military.
