After Haaland's second goal, many away fans decided they had seen enough and left the stadium to avoid traffic.
Pep Guardiola's team opened the scoring as early as the 17th minute with Foden's goal, which was his seventh against United.
Jérémy Doku showcased excellent technique, passing Luke Shaw and delivering the ball into the penalty area, where Foden headed it home.
The match remained even until halftime, but City came out for the second half with a strong mindset - Haaland got past Matthijs de Ligt and Shaw before slotting the ball into the net.
His second goal came from a free run after a poor pass from Harry Maguire, who tried to rectify the situation in midfield.
The Norwegian striker simply guided the ball into the net and doubled the lead.
City played without fear in the last 20 minutes, and United failed to score a single goal as Gianluigi Donnarumma, who made his team debut, excelled in defense.
This way, City secured important three points and an advantage in the derby.
