Milk prices in Ukraine are rising sharply: experts name the reasons and forecast for autumn.
Prices for milk are not pleasing to Ukrainians. Consumers are facing an increase in dairy product prices in 2025 due to a raw material shortage and a decline in milk yields. The average price of a milk package (900 ml) ranges from 48.25 to 55.36 UAH, but some supermarkets offer a slightly more budget-friendly option.
According to the director general of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Pavlo Koval, the price increase is related to the market shortage and the decline in milk yields. In addition, in 2025, unfavorable weather and other factors, including rising employee payments and increased energy tariffs, also contributed to price growth.
Summary
Milk prices indicate a difficult economic and natural situation. The shortage of raw materials and declining milk yields, combined with other factors, have led to an increase in the cost of dairy products for consumers.
