The Ukrainian youth team suffered a defeat by Serbia and lost to them at Euro-2025 in the group stage. This information was reported by the UEFA site.

After winning eight consecutive matches and losing to England (1:2), the youth of the Ukrainian team found themselves in a difficult situation on the way to the first place in the group. A draw was no longer an option - a convincing victory was needed.

Serbia, unable to rise above the third place, seemed clearly unimpressed. Their actions at the beginning of the game testified to this: the team handed over the initiative and the ball to the Ukrainians, focusing on defense and trying not to concede a goal.

The Ukrainian team started the game confidently, fully controlling the ball and creating moments. Already in the 12th minute, Krasnopir scored, but his goal was offside. However, the hosts unexpectedly took the lead when Aleksić used Warfomeev's mistake and scored the first goal.

The Serbs could have doubled their advantage when Šlivić went one-on-one with Nescheret, but his shot was blocked by Yarmolyuk at the last moment. Before the break, the Ukrainians attacked more actively but failed to take advantage of their chances, and the Serbian goalkeeper saved his team after a dangerous free kick from Voloshyn.

In the second half, coach Unai Melgosa brought fresh players on, and the Ukrainians' advantage became even more noticeable, but they managed not to score a single goal. The best opportunity was Kvasnytsia's moment in the 77th minute, but he couldn’t shoot into the empty net. It all ended with a disappointing defeat.

In another match, the England youth team defeated Azerbaijan with a score of 7:0, taking first place in the group with 25 points, while Ukraine became second with 24 points but made it to Euro-2025.

It is notable that on October 14, 2024, the Ukrainian national team drew with the Czech Republic in a UEFA Nations League match (Group B). The game took place at Tarczyński Arena in Wroclaw, Poland, and ended with a score of 1:1.

At the same Time, the Ukrainian national team midfielder Oleksiy Hutsulyak suffered a serious injury during an episode in the match when the Czechs scored a goal in the first half.

It is noteworthy that after four rounds, the Ukrainian national team gained four points in Group 1 of Division B of the Nations League, having beaten Georgia (1:0) and drawn with the Czech Republic (1:1).
