Morrisons introduces a new promotion: free coffee with purchases of £10

According to The Sun: The supermarket MORRISONS is launching a new benefit for loyalty cardholders: you can now get a free drink when you spend £10 or more.

This promotion is valid in 405 stores across the country, allowing customers to take advantage of the benefit.

Morrisons introduces a new benefit for loyalty cards The offer is available to customers who spend over £10 in 405 partner stores

The new format of the promotion, called the '£10 rule', allows More cardholders to order a free drink at the café of the chain.

The promotion will run from 1 to 28 September and will include various drinks: from cappuccinos to herbal teas and hot chocolates.

Here’s how it works

Those who spend £10 or more in one transaction can scan their More card and receive a voucher for a free drink.

The voucher can be redeemed at Morrisons cafes within seven days of purchase.

It is available both in the app and in printed form at the checkout, but app users should activate the offer before entering the café.

However, there are some conditions.

The offer does not apply to takeout orders, Brew Bars, Morrisons Daily stores, or online orders, and there is a limit of one free drink per week for each cardholder.

The £10 spend is also calculated after discounts are applied.

Company executives note that this initiative is aimed at uplifting spirits during shopping when value and rewards become important.

Morrisons, which recorded a 7.2% increase in profits to £344 million for the first half of the financial year, hopes that the new promotion will attract customers in a fiercely competitive environment.

Changes to Morrisons Loyalty Program

Morrisons has also introduced significant changes to its Christmas Savers club, which allows savings from January to December.

Previously, customers received paper vouchers for in-store use during holiday shopping.

From Christmas 2025, this process will change.

Now, vouchers collected within the program will be automatically loaded onto the Morrisons More card for in-store use.

Those wishing to use vouchers online can receive an electronic code if they express this desire by 30 October 2025.

Additionally, you will be able to change the way you receive vouchers by this deadline.

To select your preferred option, you need to log into your More Card account and go to the Christmas Savers club section, where you can view the transaction history.

Then select “manage club benefits,” and you will be offered one of two options.

Changes in Loyalty Programs of Other Retailers

Earlier this year, Tesco made important changes to its Clubcard program, which excited pizza lovers.

Customers could exchange their points for discounts on drinks and food at PizzaExpress until the end of April.

Clubcard points exchanged for discounts at Pizza Express had double the value, meaning a £1.50 voucher saved £3.

Sainsbury’s also introduced significant changes to its Nectar loyalty program for 18 million users.

The second-largest grocery store in the UK launched a new security feature on its loyalty card to prevent point theft.

This free program allows customers to earn one Nectar point for every £1 spent at Sainsbury’s, both in-store and online.

These changes reflect the growing competition among retailers in the UK, trying to attract shoppers and stand out from the crowd. Loyalty programs are becoming increasingly important for customer engagement, especially in times of economic uncertainty.
