Testing a new model of medical teams in Chernihiv region
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has begun testing a new model of medical teams that will provide medical services in de-occupied and frontline areas. The first pilot deployment of medical teams took place in Chernihiv region, where more than a thousand consultations and examinations were conducted in one day."Bringing medical assistance closer to residents of communities located near the border or affected by combat operations is an important task for us. Therefore, we are creating a new model of mobile assistance — flexible, interregional, which combines the resources of the state, local authorities, and partners. Chernihiv region has become the first area where this model is already working in practice," said Health Minister Viktor Lyashko. In Chernihiv district, medical deployments covered four communities, where local residents received consultations, examinations, and the opportunity to receive medications. As a result, 565 people received medical assistance, and more than 1,300 examinations revealed suspicions of various diseases such as tuberculosis, lung oncopathology, syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis C. The government of Ukraine continues to implement this new model of medical teams, which is already demonstrating effectiveness in Chernihiv region. Residents have received the necessary assistance and treatment, and the analysis of the program's results will serve as the basis for improving medical services in hard-to-reach areas of the country. This testing of medical teams shows the state's efforts to adapt medical assistance to the needs of the population affected by combat operations. Such an initiative could be an important step towards improving access to medical services in regions where they are particularly needed.
