According to inkorr.com: The International Transport Forum (ITF), which unites 69 countries, has begun work on a ten-year National Road Safety Strategy for Ukraine. This important step was initiated by the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine.

Development of a New Road Safety Strategy for Ukraine

According to the Ministry of Development, a Joint Interest Group on Transport Issues of Ukraine (CIG4U) from the International Transport Forum will work on creating the new National Road Safety Strategy in cooperation with the EASST charity organization, which specializes in road safety.

The new National Road Safety Strategy will lay the groundwork for a significant reduction in the number of fatal accidents over the next decade. It will be based on the 'Safe System Approach' – a recognized methodology that helps reduce the number of serious accidents and save lives.

This approach involves making decisions based on data, as well as shared responsibility among government authorities and society.

The developed strategy will be closely linked to the National Transport Strategy of Ukraine until 2030 and will identify road safety as one of the key factors in sustainable socio-economic development and recovery of the country.

The International Transport Forum has already launched a project to create a new National Road Safety Strategy for Ukraine. This initiative is aimed at reducing the number of fatal accidents and increasing overall safety on the country's roads. The new strategy will rely on the 'Safe System' approach, which will help ensure sustainable socio-economic development of road transport in Ukraine.

The importance of the new strategy for road safety in Ukraine cannot be overestimated. It is not only intended to reduce the number of accidents and deaths on the roads but should also become the basis for smart planning of transportation systems in the future. With the implementation of such initiatives, Ukraine will be able to move more confidently towards a safe and comfortable road environment for all road users.
