Iran's MFA protested to diplomats of four countries over statements about the transfer of missiles to Russia.
The diplomatic missions of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the Netherlands in Tehran were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. The diplomats received a protest over statements by their governments about the transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia for the war against Ukraine.
According to the Iranian news agency IRNA, the director-general of the Western Europe Department of the Iranian MFA, Majid Nili, called the statements "destructive" and "a continuation of the West's hostile policy".
A representative of the Iranian MFA claims that Tehran supports a "peaceful resolution" of the Russia-Ukraine war and considers accusations of missile transfers "absolutely unfounded and false".
According to Reuters, in August, Iran may have transferred hundreds of Fath-360 short-range ballistic missiles with satellite guidance to Russia.
According to The Wall Street Journal, in September, Iran already sent short-range ballistic missiles to Russia following an increase in Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed its concern over reports of the transfer of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia and called on the Iranian authorities to refrain from doing so.
The United States condemned Iran's supply of ballistic missiles to Russia and imposed sanctions on the Iranian airline Iran Air and a number of companies and officials.
The governments of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom also condemned the export of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia and promised to take measures to cancel bilateral air agreements with Iran.
The United Kingdom has imposed new sanctions against Iran and Russia, restricting the Russian Air and Space Forces and the military transport aviation command.
The Iranian MFA insists that Tehran did not participate in the Russia-Ukraine war and supports a political resolution of the conflict.
