On July 30, in Kharkiv region, officer, captain of the Third Separate Assault Brigade Ihor 'Africa' Klymovych was killed. This happened while performing tasks.

'Ihor joined our brigade in 2022. A fighter, an intellectual, a creator — he was not just a volunteer but a true bearer of Ukrainian identity', the message states.

The warrior conducted historical and ideological lectures, organized exhibitions of historical weapons of Ukraine, meetings with artists, and also held tournaments in sports sword fighting.

Ihor Klymovych is the author of 'Mound of Memory'. He also created the Insignia project. It is about the ceremonial transfer of weapons from commander to commander as a sign of continuing the struggle.

The fighter saved cultural heritage from shelling, photographed the war, and organized photo exhibitions, the proceeds of which were donated to support the Third Assault.

In civilian life, Ihor Klymovych was a historian, poet, photographer, researcher, and participant in the Revolution of Dignity. He was the founder of the historical reconstruction club 'Zastava'.

The first representative of Ukraine in the international archaeological association EXARC. A poet, author of collections, participant of the 'To Stand!' festival, and a laureate of the 'Traveler Photographer of the Year' competition.

Ihor is survived by his parents, brother, and pregnant wife.

'Africa' was and is the heart of the Kurunzhyi Service of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. We carry on his fire — in word, in struggle, in every decision. His cause will be continued. His memory will live on forever', the message states.
