Heavy Fighting Continues Near Lyman and Kostiantynivka

According to UATV: Ukrainian Armed Forces are locked in intense combat with Russian troops along the Lyman and Kostiantynivka axes, where occupying forces are pressing attacks from three directions in an attempt to breach defensive lines. As of June 28, a total of 241 combat engagements were recorded over the past day, including 75 clashes on the Huliaipole, Pokrovsk, and Sloviansk fronts. These figures highlight the sustained pressure across multiple sectors of the frontline.

Military analyst Dmytro Sniehyrov stated that Ukrainian defenders are successfully holding their ground.

“Russian attempts to break through Ukrainian positions are resulting in heavy losses for the occupation forces.”

Tactics and Strategy

The assault tactics employed by Russian storm units mirror those seen earlier in the battles for Pokrovsk, Soledar, and Bakhmut, indicating a pattern in their operational approach. The situation remains volatile, and any further moves by either side could significantly alter the conflict’s trajectory in this region.

The ongoing combat along these axes underscores the persistence of active military operations, which may have major implications for the broader course of the war. Maintaining their positions is critical for Ukrainian forces to stabilize the frontline and prevent any further Russian advances. In this protracted conflict, each engagement carries potential strategic weight for both sides.
