The State Border Guard Service reported that Russian occupiers attempted to breach the defense on the border with the Sumy region.
According to spokesperson Andriy Demchenko, the highest enemy activity is observed near the settlements of Novenke and Zhuravka.
Reports of a breach of the border in the Sumy region, which have significantly penetrated our territory, are not true. Of course, the enemy is trying to enter the territory of Ukraine to improve their position. Perhaps the enemy intends to surround our group in Kursk or cut off their logistical routes.
Demchenko also explained that near Zhuravka, the Russians attempted to break through the defense using equipment columns. However, the defense forces stopped them, destroying the armored vehicles. The occupiers continue to attack in small groups.
Currently, the enemy is most actively using assault groups to advance towards the settlement of Novenke.
The main goal of these groups is to penetrate our territory as much as possible, accumulate, and later, when they have the strength, expand the combat zone in our territory.
