Military Recruitment Office Chief Detained in Volyn for Assault on 60-Year-Old Man.
Arrest in Kovel District
According to Novyny.live: On March 27, officers from the State Bureau of Investigation detained the head of a group within a department of the Kovel District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in the Volyn region. The arrest stemmed from events that took place on March 20 in the village of Zabolottia, Kovel District. The official has been charged with intentional infliction of moderate bodily harm, after a 60-year-old man sustained injuries of moderate severity during a mobilization attempt.
A court has imposed a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest. A pre-trial investigation into the circumstances of the incident is currently ongoing. This case has sparked outrage among local residents, as the use of physical force against an older man deemed unfit for service during mobilization is considered unacceptable.
Incident in Ivano-Frankivsk Region
Separately, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a captain from one of the territorial recruitment centers was fined 18,700 hryvnias. In the city of Uman, a woman is suspected of assisting men of mobilization age in crossing the state border. The mobilization situation in Ukraine remains tense, and such incidents are raising public concern.
