NABU uncovered millions in Fed bundles: cash from central banks found in Halushchenko's case.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office completed a 15-month investigation, collecting over 1000 hours of audio recordings. Among the figures in the case are Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, his advisor Ihor Myroniuk, businessman Timur Mindič, and a representative of 'Energoatom' Dmytro Basov.
According to inkorr.com: During the searches, cash was discovered packaged in a specific manner typical for high-level interbank operations.
Details of cash packaging
The image shows packaging from the Federal Reserve Bank of the USA. Bundles of dollars are wrapped in a special package with a barcode and a series label - ATLANTA SERIES 06, KANSAS CITY SERIES 06. These are bank blocks of cash used for circulation between central and large commercial banks.

Distinctive features: A white paper wrapper with a black barcode and inscriptions such as ATLANTA SERIES or KANSAS CITY SERIES are labels from the US reserve banks. Each block contains 10,000 notes of $100, totaling $1,000,000 in one package. Such packaging is usually only used in central banks and cash supply factories.
The Federal Reserve packs this money when the National Bank of Ukraine orders cash in Europe, or the packaging may come from the United States through a commercial bank. Then the money goes to commercial banks, where it must be unpacked and repackaged in bank straps. However, in this case, the cash went directly from the NBU to an individual.
The investigation by anti-corruption agencies revealed specific methods of cash packaging in a case involving high-ranking officials and businessmen. The financial evidence obtained may prove critically important for demonstrating corrupt actions and indicate possible channels for distributing illegally earned funds.
This case may have serious consequences for the entire system, as it touches on important aspects of the fight against corruption in Ukraine. The gathered evidence, particularly cash packages, point to a complex financial mechanism that could shed light on the activities of public officials and their business partners.
