Naftogaz warned about the threat to the heating season due to Russian attacks on gas storage facilities.
According to inkorr.com: The head of Naftogaz, Serhii Koretskyi, stated that Ukraine urgently needs support from international financial organizations to ensure a seamless heating season. During a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, he emphasized the importance of preparing for winter, which includes importing additional volumes of gas and replenishing supplies in underground storage facilities.
Problems with gas infrastructure
'One of the key topics of negotiations has been the consequences of systematic Russian attacks on civilian gas infrastructure, which pose a serious threat to the security of the energy system,' Koretskyi emphasized.
Koretskyi also stressed the importance of international cooperation to enhance the resilience of the Ukrainian energy grid, noting that measures aimed at strengthening the energy system are being implemented together with partners.
He reiterated that support from international financial institutions is crucial for the stability of the heating season. Koretskyi added that the threats associated with systematic Russian attacks on gas infrastructure require active international cooperation to bolster Ukraine's energy security.
In the context of these challenges, it becomes clear how critically important it is to maintain the country's energy stability amid continuous aggression. Support from international partners during this period is not only an economic issue but also a significant step towards ensuring the security and independence of Ukraine.
