Expert Raises Alarm Over NATO's Response to Russian Hostility

According to UATV: During an appearance on the FREEДОМ television channel, Polish analyst Piotr Kulpa voiced serious concerns about NATO's inadequate reaction to Russian aggression in Europe. He underscored Ukraine's critical role in continental security, stressing that Western alliances must pay greater attention to the escalating situation as Moscow continues its hostile actions.

Kulpa pointed to a gradual US disengagement from Europe, stating:

“Today, the United States lacks its former strength. America is pulling out of Europe.”

According to the expert, this withdrawal compounds security challenges for the region, particularly in the face of Russian aggression. This shift in American posture leaves European allies more exposed.

Threats Posed by Russia

Kulpa highlighted recent incidents that illustrate the Russian threat. He cited strikes launched by Russia against Romania, noting that similar events have previously occurred in Poland and the Baltic states. The incident in Romania took place on the night of May 29, prompting Bucharest to close the Russian consulate general in Constanța and declare Russia's ambassador persona non grata.

The expert also drew attention to the insufficient preparedness of NATO's eastern flank to counter Russian aggression, remarking:

“The readiness of NATO's eastern flank to repel Russian aggression is inadequate.”

In Kulpa's view, Russia's strikes across Europe are aimed at securing victory over Ukraine. He warned that “500 or 5,000 drones flying over Europe would destroy a significant portion of its infrastructure.”

Consequently, the Polish expert argues that Europe faces an urgent need for NATO to implement measures ensuring regional security, as Russia's actions continue to threaten the continent's stability.

Kulpa's commentary underscores the pressing nature of European security issues, especially given Russian aggression and the diminishing US military presence. His remarks about NATO's lack of readiness to address potential threats reflect growing anxiety over regional stability. This may push Western nations to reassess their security strategies and strengthen cooperation within NATO to confront the new challenges confronting Europe.
