NATO is not intimidated by Russia's threats: Rutte on supporting Ukraine.
The North Atlantic alliance will continue to actively support Ukraine and is not afraid of threats from Russia, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte during his first visit to the alliance's mission in Ukraine. He claims that he will do everything possible for Ukraine to win: "We will continue and do everything necessary to ensure that Russia does not achieve its goal".
The NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) mission is heading to Ukraine to coordinate military aid from the West. The main headquarters will transfer coordination to the American base in Klee, and then more than 700 personnel, formed from military personnel from various countries, will transfer control to the Ukrainian troops.
The Secretary General noted that this step is critically important for NATO, as it is necessary to have all capabilities to deter the Russian threat. He claims that NATO is a defensive alliance, not interested in capturing territories of other countries. Rutte emphasized: "We, the strongest military alliance in the history of the world, are ready to face any threat and will not yield to our adversaries".
