Rutte stated that the RF brought a historian to the Istanbul negotiations.

The NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reported that the Russians sent a historian to Istanbul for negotiations with Ukraine, who spoke about the history of the RF since 1250. This concerns the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinsky.
According to Telegram Donald Trump in Ukrainian, Rutte noted that there was pressure on Ukraine to send high-ranking representatives to Istanbul. At the same Time, Moscow decided not to send serious representatives for negotiations in Turkey.
What Rutte said about the RF delegation in Istanbul
Mark Rutte noted: 'We really pressed the Ukrainians to send a team of high-ranking representatives to Istanbul, and they did. But then the Russians brought a historian who spoke about the history of Russia since 1250.'
It is also worth noting that earlier Vladimir Medinsky suggested sending Rutte a school history textbook so that he could understand what, in his opinion, allegedly did not exist in Ukraine in the 12th century.
The NATO Secretary General also met with US President Donald Trump and had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where they discussed the details of cooperation to support Ukraine.
In particular, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the third round of negotiations between Ukraine and the RF is possible after the completion of agreed prisoner exchanges.
During the negotiations between Ukraine and the RF in Istanbul, the Russians sent a historian to discuss historical issues, which raised the interest of the meeting participants. The NATO Secretary General held consultations with both the US president and Ukraine for a joint discussion of further steps and plans to support Ukraine.Read also
