Karol Nawrocki became the president of Poland on Wednesday, August 6, after taking the oath, replacing Andrzej Duda in this position. This information is reported by The Guardian.

In his speech at the National Assembly meeting in the Sejm building in Warsaw, Nawrocki emphasized the importance of security, protection of Polish traditions, and sovereignty.

'The free choice of a free nation brought me to you today, despite the propaganda campaign, lies, political theater, and contempt I faced on my way to the presidential chair', he stated.

Nawrocki spoke against:

  • illegal migration;
  • the introduction of the euro;
  • increasing the retirement age.

The President of Poland stated that he aims to act as the voice of the nation and work beyond political disagreements.

Nawrocki also plans to focus on improving relations with the United States and maintaining a cautious position regarding the European Union.

Recently, the President of Poland discussed cooperation with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during their phone conversation on July 31.

Additionally, it became known that Nawrocki is against Ukraine joining the European Union.

After Karol Nawrocki became the President of Poland, he took office following Andrzej Duda and has already expressed his positions on key issues such as migration, the euro, and relations with the European Union, emphasizing the importance of security and sovereignty of his country. Moreover, he also expressed a desire to maintain close ties with the United States and support dialogue with Ukraine.
