Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom and former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhny shared a unique book that tells about the terrible reality of war. He posted on Facebook, showing the book "Lemberg. Mommy, don't cry", written by writer Olena Cherninka.

In my hands is a book written by a mother who is going through the hardest of possible trials — searching for her son.

Olena Cherninka is a mother who is still looking for her son missing in the war. Zaluzhny decided to post this to support her and other women who have experienced a similar fate.

With this post, I just want to support her and remind about the pain that thousands of mothers live with, who, like Ms. Olena, have given the most precious thing for the fight for Ukraine — their children. They wait, they lose, they cry. Perhaps it is impossible to dry these tears. But I so wish to do it - to take away their pain even for a minute

According to Zaluzhny, the book "Lemberg" is not just about a son that Cherninka is still looking for - it is a book about the war and its true face.

Every second, the war brings pain that is felt in every word of this story. This book is soaked in maternal tears. This book is about the real - real warriors, real friends, real Ukrainians who defend Ukraine. And it is thanks to the real ones that we have it

The ambassador emphasized that the book also tells about maternal love and urged to honor and cherish their mothers.

Sons and daughters should know about it. This is not just a feeling - it is a constant spiritual connection and responsibility before oneself for one’s child. She is forever a mom... even when the son remains only in her memories and heart. She continues to be a mom... For her, he is always a child. On every page. In every word. In the very heart. Because she is a mom

Let us recall that Valeriy Zaluzhny held the position of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, but after his resignation, he became the ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom. He decided to openly support mothers who are looking for their sons and daughters. In addition, Zaluzhny called to cherish and take care of mothers.

It should be noted that there were other generals appointed as ambassadors. Zaluzhny became the third general after Andriy Taran and Oleksandr Polishchuk.

We should also mention that a meeting with Zaluzhny was up for auction at the charitable auction "Media Coffee". The highest bid for this meeting was 250 thousand hryvnias.
