Place of Birth. Education. Born on July 8, 1973, in Novograd-Volynsky, Zhytomyr Oblast. In 1989 he entered the Novograd-Volynsky Machine Engineering Institute, which he graduated with honors in 1993.

Subsequently, he attended the General Faculty for the Armed Forces at the Odessa Institute of Ground Forces. In 1997 he graduated with honors and then went through all levels of military service: platoon leader, head of the training platoon, head of the combat platoon, head of the training company, head of the cadet company, battalion commander.

In 2005 he entered the National Defense Academy of Ukraine and graduated in 2007 with a Golden Medal.

In December 2020, he completed a Master's degree at the Ostrah Academy in the field of 'International Relations'.

Career. After graduating from the academy, he was appointed Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade in Yavoriv, Lviv Oblast. He commanded this brigade until 2009.

From 2009 to 2012 - Commander of the 51st Separate Mechanized Brigade.

In 2017 he was promoted to Major General.

In 2017 - Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of the Troops of the Operational Command 'West' of the Ground Forces of the UAF of Ukraine.

From 2018 to 2019 - Chief of Staff of the Unified Operational Staff of the UAF - First Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces.

From 2019 to 2021 - Commander of the Troops of the Operational Command 'North'.

Since July 27, 2021 - Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, after Ruslan Khomchak.
