Crayfish in Ukraine cost up to 1000 UAH/kg: is it profitable to engage in their breeding.
In the countryside, few people engage in crayfish farming. Most choose to breed poultry, pigs, vegetables, fruits, or mushrooms. However, growing crayfish can be more profitable as this business brings in good income, requires minimal expenses, and takes less time. This type of activity also does not interfere with other affairs.

Is it profitable to engage in crayfish breeding
Crayfish generate income from May to October, but it is a seasonal business. Before starting farming, it is important to check the demand for this product in your region. At the same time, freshwater crayfish are not inferior to expensive seafood delicacies in terms of nutrition and taste.
How much do crayfish cost in August and what affects their price
At the 'Pryvoz' market in Odessa, the prices for crayfish are as follows:
- Small - 200 UAH/kg;
- Medium - 350 UAH/kg;
- Medium-large - 550 UAH/kg;
- Large - 700 UAH/kg;
- Selected - 1000 UAH/kg.
On average, the price of crayfish in Ukraine on OLX ranges from 600 to 800 UAH per kilogram. In regions with lower demand, prices may be lower, and in large cities, they can reach 1000 UAH and higher. The price depends on the size of the crayfish, the type of product (live or processed), and the region.
When buying wholesale (from 10 kg), discounts can be obtained - the price will be approximately 470 UAH/kg, and through online stores, it will be higher.
It is also worth remembering that for successful fishing, it is important to prepare bait, which can be a regular piece of bread. Also, in recent times, fluctuations in fuel prices and currency have been observed in the Ukrainian market.
Growing crayfish can be a profitable direction in agriculture with good profit. Prices for crabs may vary depending on their size, type, and region, and it is also important to consider the demand for products from potential consumers.
