Zelensky: Russia Uses Missiles and Drones for Aggression Against Ukraine

On September 6, 2024, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke at the international economic forum 'Ambrosetti' in Italy, where he made a number of important statements regarding Russian aggression and Ukraine's defense strategy.

This was reported by Interfax-Ukraine.

Zelensky pointed out that Putin is seeking additional missiles from the 'worst regimes in the world' to continue killing Ukrainian children. He reminded that Russia uses ballistic missiles from North Korea, strike drones from Iran, and significant funds from oil sales to prolong the war as long as possible.

The Ukrainian leader emphasized that Ukraine uses its own drones to attack military targets in Russia, but never strikes Russian civilian infrastructure. 'When you talk about a thousand kilometers, we use our own drones, of our production. But we do not target civilians,' Zelensky stressed.

The president expressed regret over the restrictions on the use of long-range weapons: 'When we talk about, for example, Italy or someone else being afraid that we will strike the Kremlin, I am sorry that we cannot do this. Because the long-range weapons that you or your partners have are for 200 kilometers.'

Zelensky also noted that Russia uses about 4,000 bombs each month to strike eastern Ukraine, launching them from aircraft at military airfields. He warned that Russia will not stop and will continue to destroy Ukrainian villages and cities.

The Ukrainian leader spoke about the measures Ukraine is taking to protect its citizens and economy, including building shelters for schools and underground educational institutions, relocating businesses, and plans to produce weapons underground.

The president thanked Italy for supporting the Ukrainian Peace Formula and expressed hope for further cooperation. He also noted that membership in the EU and NATO without a frozen conflict is a condition for the normal recovery of Ukraine.
