Newcastle will not fully finance the new stadium: project details.
Newcastle's plans for the new stadium
According to The Sun: The owners of Newcastle United, representing Saudi Arabia, do not intend to fully finance the construction of a new stadium. They are currently considering the possibility of increasing the capacity of the stadium, which holds 52,264 fans.

The club's owners, who manage the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), have assets of over £900 billion. It was initially planned that they, in partnership with minority owners, the Ruben brothers, would cover the full costs of the new stadium. However, according to the publication Mail, this will not happen.
The club's management is looking for ways to fund part of the construction costs. PIF and the Ruben brothers may cover half of the costs, while the other half is planned to be financed through loans that will remain a debt for the club.
Infrastructure expenses are not subject to financial control rules, so PIF can theoretically invest as much as needed without violating Premier League regulations.
Future stadium plans
The Newcastle management has ambitions to increase the stadium's capacity to around 65,000 seats. They also hope that the new stadium will be multifunctional, like Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which hosts NFL matches, rugby games, and world-class concerts.
The club also wants to maintain its legendary atmosphere, which was felt during the recent Champions League match against Barcelona.
Despite their vast assets, the owners of Newcastle United are aware that building a new stadium is not only a financial challenge but also a responsible task regarding the club's development. They are trying to find the optimal funding model that will allow them to preserve their sporting ambitions and the legendary atmosphere of St James' Park. It is evident that the new project will become an important milestone in the club's history. Read also
