Mass Drone Strike on Ukraine: 129 UAVs Launched Overnight, Fuel Station Fires and Blaze in Zaporizhzhia.
Attacks in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv Region
According to Espreso.tv: Overnight strikes in Zaporizhzhia and the Kharkiv region triggered fires and structural damage. In Zaporizhzhia, a gas storage tank and an administrative building went up in flames. In the Kharkiv area, two gas stations in the Solonytsivka community came under attack, with one station engulfed in a fire spanning 400 square meters. The blazes destroyed or damaged 10 pieces of equipment.
Escalating Military Pressure and Air Defense Response
On the night of June 27, Russian forces launched 129 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine, of which 113 were intercepted. Thirteen strike drones hit seven separate locations, while debris fell across three additional sites. Russia currently maintains a concentrated force of 721,000 soldiers, and 205 combat engagements were recorded along the front line within a single day. Meanwhile, Ukrainian security forces successfully destroyed a command post of Russia’s 41st Army in the Donetsk region.
These developments underscore the ongoing military tensions in Ukraine, where attacks on civilian infrastructure continue to severely disrupt daily life. The strikes on Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv highlight intensified combat operations in the country’s east, demanding heightened security measures. Furthermore, Ukraine’s effective air defense—which neutralized the vast majority of incoming drones—demonstrates the military’s capability to counter aggression, even as the front-line situation remains highly volatile.
