Drone Attack Targets Okhtyrka District
According to Novyny.live: On the night of June 26, Russian drones struck the Okhtyrka district in Ukraine’s Sumy region, leaving 10 people injured. Among the victims is a 53-year-old woman from the Kyrykivka community who sustained severe burns. Nine other individuals also sought medical treatment following the assault.
The incident occurred when one of the drones hit a nine-story residential building in the city of Sumy. Additionally, an attack targeted a police evacuation crew known as 'White Angel' and a vehicle from the 'Berehynia' center, though no casualties were reported in those cases.
Oleh Hryhorov reported that the enemy deployed a significant number of unmanned aerial vehicles during the assault. The aftermath of the strike on the Sumy region continues to raise alarm among local residents and security services. Authorities are working to provide necessary medical care to the injured and are assessing the extent of the damage caused.
Threats to Civilians
This attack is part of an ongoing conflict where drones are increasingly used as a common tool of warfare. The rising number of strikes on civilian infrastructure highlights the dangers faced by non-combatants in regions near active combat zones.
Local authorities and security forces remain focused on protecting the population and responding to such incidents to mitigate risks and ensure public safety.
