Preparations for the New Racing Season
Nicky Henderson recently drew attention by organizing special events for his owners, as the jumping season is on the horizon.
I had the opportunity to see some of his stars over the weekend, and many looked impressive under the autumn sun.
In particular, Constitution Hill is preparing for the 'Fighting Fifth' in Newcastle, where he is set to meet the new star Dan Skelton - 'The New Lion'.
Jonbon looked confident, and his classy two-miler may surprise this season. Joeoos and Lucky Place will also be newcomers in the jumps.
Highland is likely to try his hand again in the Grand Prix, while newcomer Django Bay had issues after competing at Aintree, but may participate in 'King George' at Kempton.
Lulama, the highest-rated 4-year-old from last season, is already undergoing training over obstacles, and Sir Gino is returning to competition over two miles with possible preparation for 'Desert Orchid' at Christmas.
Here are some photos of some stars...

Rare Appearance by Richard Quinn
In other news, there was a rare appearance by Richard Quinn at Newmarket on Saturday.
Some may ask, who is Richard? Others remember him as the talented jockey who formerly partnered with Paul Nicholls' horses.
‘Quinny’ caught up with his old friends Michael and Richard Hills at 'HQ', and may soon return south, as he has been living in Scotland for a while.
Quinn was a pleasant personality, and I remember once going on a sea trip to Mauritius together — those moments will stay forever in memory.
On the track, he always delivered high results, winning numerous victories in major races.
These include a victory at the Oaks on Love Divine, St Leger with Millenary and Snurge. He also won the Irish St Leger with Ibn Bey, the Goodwood Cup with Persian Punch, and the French 1,000 Guineas with Culture Vulture.
Some jockeys rarely appear after retirement. Like Jimmy Fortune, Richard Quinn keeps his life very private.
But those who saw him on a horse will remember him forever. And fans of the late trainer Reg Akehurst know that with Quinn on board, the chances of winning were very high.
