Germany’s Support for Ukraine

Chancellor Friedrich Merz made these remarks at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, where he argued that strengthening Ukraine’s defensive capabilities bolsters security across the entire continent. He emphasized that safety is the foundation for everything else, and that reconstruction and progress can only happen with long-term security in place.
German-Polish Cooperation
The event also marked the 35th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness between Germany and Poland. Merz highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two nations and their shared role in rebuilding Ukraine.
