Tougher Entry Rules in Germany: New Daily Cash Requirement for Foreign Visitors.
Stricter Financial Thresholds for Travelers
According to Novyny.live: Starting in June 2026, Germany will enforce updated financial criteria for foreign nationals seeking entry. Visitors must now prove they have at least €45 (roughly 2,300 UAH) per day. For a five-day stay, this means a minimum of €225 (around 11,600 UAH) must be available.
Pension and Wage Updates
Alongside these immigration changes, June 2026 will also see a boost in pension payments. About 21 million retirees across the country will receive an average increase of 4.24%. Additionally, Germany’s minimum wage will rise to €13.90 gross per hour, translating to a monthly gross salary of at least €2,409 for full-time workers.
According to the German Embassy in Kyiv, travelers can demonstrate sufficient funds using cash, debit cards, or credit cards. These new financial requirements may affect many Ukrainians planning trips to Germany in the near future.

The pension hikes and minimum wage increase could positively impact Germany’s economy by boosting household incomes and consumer spending. These measures may also benefit the tourism sector, as greater local purchasing power could encourage more domestic travel.
