Final event of the Special Program to Support Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: The final event of the Special Program to Support Ukraine from GIZ (SAP)/EU4ResilientRegions II, funded by the German government and the European Union, took place in Kyiv. According to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the second phase of the program aims to strengthen the resilience of communities through infrastructure restoration and improved access to medical, administrative, and social services.
Infrastructure Restoration and Medical Services
As part of this project, 17 infrastructure facilities were restored, including schools, hospitals, and administrative service centers. Mobile medical clinics began operating in 20 communities, providing residents of remote villages and towns with access to medical assistance. The project has helped over 600,000 people, including those from frontline regions, and has been an important step in addressing regional disparities in development.
Support for Vulnerable Communities
The program provided assistance to the most vulnerable communities in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions, located in security threat zones and near the frontline. The implementation of the program was carried out in collaboration with non-governmental organizations such as the 'Brave to Restore' Charity Fund, 'Chance Club' NGO, 'Initiative Step' NGO, and 'Patients of Ukraine' Charity Fund, which acted as intermediaries between international partners and communities.
This program can be considered a significant contribution to restoring life in Ukrainian regions affected by the war. The measures implemented as part of the project provide hope for improved living conditions in the most vulnerable communities and highlight the importance of international support for Ukraine in this challenging time.
