According to inkorr.com: Ukraine is reaching out to Germany for financial assistance to restore housing and critical infrastructure. The country aims to provide new homes for people affected by the war. This was stated by Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Oleksey Kuleba.

'For people who have left their homes in temporarily occupied territories, housing has become a matter of dignity and safety. Many have lost not only their roofs over their heads but also documents or the ability to prove their rights to them. We are expanding the eRecovery program and seeking resources to help all families from the TOC. The support of our partners, including Germany, is critically important for this. Together, we can give people who have lost their homes a chance to start a new chapter in life,' emphasized Oleksey Kuleba.

During the negotiations, further cooperation with KfW was discussed, which provides mortgages for financially capable internally displaced persons through StateYouthHousing. To date, 1053 loans totaling 35 million euros have been issued, and to provide housing for approximately 2 thousand families, another 75 million euros is needed.

Further Development of Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency

The possibilities of continuing funding for energy-efficient recovery projects for social infrastructure and creating affordable housing for the most vulnerable categories of the population were also discussed. The modernization of 119 educational institutions across Ukraine is planned: in each district center, it is expected to replace lighting systems with energy-efficient ones as well as install solar panels and energy storage systems.

Issues of enhancing institutional capacity, attracting investments in the production of energy-efficient materials, and implementing thermomodernization projects were also on the agenda. Minister Kuleba emphasized the intention to expand cooperation with Germany in all sectors, from housing policy to energy efficiency and regional programs.

Thus, Ukraine is actively seeking Germany's support for the restoration of its housing stock and critical infrastructure. In addition, the continuation of cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and social infrastructure development is planned. These negotiations highlight the importance of international support in the country's rebuilding process.
