Germany refuses military mission in Ukraine: what was offered instead.
Germany refuses to send troops to Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: The German government has decided not to send its soldiers to Ukraine, even after discussing the possibility of deploying the Bundeswehr to ensure security during the summit in Berlin with US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to BILD, Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Deputy Chancellor Lars Klingbeil concluded that Germany should focus on financial and military-technical support for Ukraine, rather than sending its troops.
'Due to Trump's refusal to join such a mission, discussions about the peacekeeping mandate are suspended'
The German government is aware of its responsibility towards the Ukrainian army and is ready, in the event of a peace agreement, to take on some of the payments for soldiers, provide training for fighters, and support the development of the defense industry in Ukraine together with German companies.
Criticism of Putin for actions against Europe
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of daily attacks and diversions aimed at destabilizing the situation in Europe.
After discussing the possibilities of military support for Ukraine at the summit in Berlin, representatives of Germany confirmed their decision not to send troops, emphasizing financial and military-technical assistance while accusing the Russian president of conducting attacks on Europe.
This decision by Germany highlights the country's strategic approach to supporting Ukraine, focusing on finance and technology instead of direct military intervention. In the ongoing crisis, it is important for European states to continue to cooperate in support of the Ukrainian army and to deter the aggressor's actions.
