Death of Ricky Hatton: Noel Gallagher's Memories

According to The Sun: Noel Gallagher, guitarist of OASIS, revealed that he had been in touch with boxer Ricky Hatton shortly before his death.

The music legend, 58 years old, shared memories of how Ricky joked during recent concerts in Manchester.

Noel added:

‘We communicated through text messages. I saw him at Heaton Park a few evenings, and he was in his usual style, joking with everyone.'

He emphasized:

“He was drinking. He was great. We don’t know what happened, but he had mental health issues, that’s known.'

The 46-year-old Hatton, a Manchester City fan who always supported Noel and Liam, was found dead in his home on Sunday morning.

Noel also said:

“He was one of us. He came with his friends for a week, and there was a feeling that he was part of the group.”

“It’s a big loss for his family. I was shocked. But he had an incredible career.”

Gallagher also recalled how Ricky asked him and Liam to bring his belts to the ring during the title fight in 2008 against Paulie Malignaggi, which Hatton won.

He noted:

“It was an honor to do this. We had a fun night in the clubs after that.”

Liam, 52, also expressed his condolences regarding Hatton’s death.

He posted a photo of the boxer from one of the recent OASIS concerts, adding:

'Absolutely gutted to hear the news about Ricky Hatton. It was a privilege to know him and carry his belts. Rest in peace, champion.'

A tribute to Ricky will be held at the next OASIS concert at Wembley on September 27.

Noel recalled how Ricky asked him and Liam to bring his belts to the ring during his title fight in 2008.

His dedication to the sport and friendships with famous musicians confirm what a great athlete he was. The next OASIS concert promises to be not just a musical event, but an important occasion to honor Ricky's memory, who will forever remain in their hearts.
