Noni Madueke has suffered a knee injury: examination results will determine the duration of absence.
Noni Madueke's Injury During the Arsenal - Manchester City Match
According to The Sun: Noni Madueke, the 23-year-old winger from Arsenal, suffered a serious injury during the match against Manchester City on Sunday. He left the field in the 45th minute and was replaced by Bukayo Saka with the score at 1-1.
At first, no one noticed the substitution; it was thought to be tactical. However, later worrying news emerged: a video surfaced on social media showing Madueke holding his knee during the extra time of the first half.
“He had a problem very early in the game and was not fit enough to continue,”said head coach Mikel Arteta.
According to Standard, Madueke is having his knee examined to determine the severity of the injury.
The player joined Arsenal this summer for £52 million from Chelsea. The Gunners' new signing has played four out of five Premier League matches but has yet to score or provide an assist. Nevertheless, he showed promising performances during the last international break with the England national team.
Thomas Tuchel used Madueke in qualifying matches against Andorra and Serbia, where he scored in the 5-0 win against Serbia.
Further Injuries at Arsenal
Arteta has already struggled with a number of injuries this season. Bukayo Saka (24 years) returned to the field after three injury-related matches.
Captain Martin Ødegaard also has an old shoulder problem. Meanwhile, Kai Havertz underwent knee surgery last month, and Gabriel Jesus remains out for an extended period.
Injuries to key players are a serious problem for Arsenal this season, which could significantly impact their chances in the Premier League and other competitions. The team hopes for a quick recovery for Madueke, as he has shown promising performances and has great potential to become an important figure at the club.
