An Unusual Visit to the Heroes of the Popular Series

According to The Sun: Do you recognize this family home that became the backdrop for a famous television show? The three-bedroom house served as the scene for one of Netflix's most popular series of 2025.

The homeowners in Yorkshire, Bethany Fletcher (32) and Dylan Taylor (29), were forced to leave their home for three months last summer to allow the film crew to work.

This happened after a Hollywood actor visited them to evaluate the property for his new project. As a result, this house, built in the 1960s, became the fictional home of the Miller family in the series.

The offer for the house at £230,000 became the backdrop for the critically acclaimed drama by Stephen Graham titled 'Adolescence'.

“I was thrilled when he walked into our home,” recalls Bethany.

“Of course, Bethany didn’t know who was coming, so when he entered, it was so surreal,” added Dylan.

The couple notes that Graham was impressed by their house, captivated by the stairs and natural lighting. They also shared that the only original element that made it into the series was their kitchen table.

The Success of 'Adolescence' on Netflix

The series 'Adolescence' became a massive success, garnering 66.3 million views in its first two weeks. It earned the title of Netflix's most popular show in the first half of 2025 and became the most popular British series on the platform.

Additionally, the series won eight Emmy awards, including for Best Limited Series. Owen Cooper became the youngest actor to receive this award.

The filming crew chose Pontefract for shooting since actor Owen is a local of the area. Additional locations included Misthorpe Community College and Production Park in South Kirby, where scenes for Jamie Miller's high school and a police station were filmed.

Each episode was shot in one 'take', which helped to build tension and intrigue for viewers.
