Blaine Eunice, who worked with Hatton and became a close friend, shared an emotional message on social media.

“They say you should never meet your heroes…”
“But if you are a young amateur boxer from Manchester, it is practically impossible because our hero was Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton.”

Eunice recounted how Hatton became a local hero and emphasized that it was important for young boxers to see him as relatable and accessible.

Hatton was found dead at his estate, and police reported that the circumstances of his death were not suspicious.

Eunice also recalled how he prepared Hatton for a demonstration fight:

“I couldn't believe when he asked me to train him for this fight, I was thrilled.”

He emphasized that Hatton was always a role model for young boxers and how they achieved success together.

Hatton's family released a statement confirming his plans to return to boxing and noted how he was looking forward to showing his daughters the art of boxing.

“We are all in shock from the events of the past few days. As far as we know, despite his well-documented struggles, Richard was in a good mental state.”
