Constitution Hill returns: can the former champion regain his crown.
According to The Sun: Players are confident that this season no one can match Constitution Hill on the track, after Nicky Henderson released a video of the former champion's serious training sessions.
The horse, who became a star in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and Champion Hurdle last season, has struggled in several starts.
Constitution Hill led Jonbon and Lulamu up the hill at Seven Barrows – looking pretty good PAVictories at Christmas and in the Unibet Hurdle were highlights of his career, although falls at Cheltenham, Aintree, and unsuccessful jumps in Punchestown disappointed fans.
The legendary trainer Henderson noted that Constitution Hill underwent serious examination this summer.
Among other things, he visited 'Horse Specs' to ensure everything is fine with his vision.
Hendo is confident: his stable star is in great shape and ready for a potential start at the Fighting Fifth in Newcastle next month.
It seems that most players are willing to forgive him for last season's failures, believing that Constitution Hill will return to his best form.
He certainly looked impressive during training at Seven Barrows, and the trainer released a video showing Con Hill racing up the hill, outpacing multiple Grade 1 winner Jonbon and Arkli favorite Lu lam u.
We will only know if he remains at the same level when he jumps publicly.
However, his chances for the Champion Hurdle – where he is still considered the favorite at odds of 10-1 – have recently slightly declined.
One user, while watching the video, remarked:
“My head tells me he has no chance, but my heart says he will win it all.”
Another commentator added:
“Come on, Constitution Hill. Get back to your best this season – no one can stop him.”
Yet another remark:
“If you don’t want to see Constitution Hill return to form and win the Champion Hurdle, you obviously don’t love racing?”
