From October 27, queues at the border with Poland: what is happening.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainians planning to visit Poland should be prepared for potential difficulties at the border: starting from October 27, delays may occur at some checkpoints due to the introduction of a new European entry and exit control system.
Possible problems at the checkpoints
According to the State Customs Service, queues may form at the 'Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice', 'Smilnytsia - Krosenko', and 'Hrushiv - Budomezh' checkpoints. This is related to the launch of the entry/exit digital system (EES), which will record data of all third-country nationals crossing the EU border.
'We ask drivers to take these circumstances into account and consider other checkpoints,' the customs office reported.
Changes in border control
The EES system will replace traditional passport stamping with electronic registration of border crossings. As the European Union plans, this program aims to simplify control, enhance security, and reduce the risks of illegal stay of foreigners in the EU territory.
Arrests of Ukrainians in Poland
In addition, arrests of Ukrainians suspected of espionage against the military have begun in Poland.
Such changes in the control system and news about arrests raise concerns among Ukrainians planning trips to Poland. It is important to monitor the situation and choose alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays when crossing the border.
